A string of 25 beautifully restored motor cars stopped briefly in Bruce Station on their way to Espanola Wednesday morning.

The Great Lakes Railway excursion came through Bruce Station quite a bit later than scheduled, and unfortunately by the time they arrived it was pouring rain and the crowd who came out to welcome them, had dwindled.

Those who waited it out, were happy they did and enjoyed checking out the unique little cars. We were told by Huron Central staff who escorted the tour, "The motor cars follow the same speed limit as the trains, which is now 25MPH and down to 10 MPH on a few sections".

Most of the folks taking part in this tour live in Michigan, but their refurbished and updated cars displayed logos from various railroad companies across Canada and the USA.

The group was stopping in Blind River for lunch, Spanish for a snack, and planned to overnight in Espanola before heading back to Sault Ste. Marie on Thursday.

Below is a short video and photo gallery of the motor cars in Bruce Station.
