Aunt Bee’s Unique Gift and Décor Studio is the long-time dream of proprietor Carol Cope. Carol and her husband Henry live in Rydal Bank, where she paints and creates beautiful handcrafted items for sale in her new retail storefront.

Carol worked for 30 years as an Education Assistant in southern Ontario and as a supply EA locally. However, after the passing of her father, Carol decided the time had come for her to try something she’d always dreamed of doing.

When a spot became available in the Barber on the Bay building along Highway 17 east, Carol took the plunge, diving right into her new career. Aunt Bee’s Gift shop and Studio quickly transformed from a dream to reality, opening on Saturday September 10th , 2016.

Wanting to do something a bit different, Carol decided to only carry “Canadian Made” product lines in her shop.  She carefully sourced baby items, specialty food products, glass works, rugs, jewelry, and more, all made in Canada.

Carol says, “It has been great working with small Mom and Pop shops across the country to find unique, items.” She’s extremely grateful for all the help and mentoring she’s received from family and friends in the business, leading up to her opening.

Aunt Bee is a nickname Carol’s nieces have used for her since they were very young, and it stuck. So she decided to go with that, as the name for her new business venture.
