45 runners from our area were among 508 women competing in the 5km run, including 11 local mother-daughter teams this year. Medalists included Team Bringleson-Meghan and Aimee winning Silver and Team Mick-Lily and Stephanie winning Bronze.

3 brave girls from CASS challenged themselves in the 10km race. Tate Hartley didn’t let some nasty blisters slow her down, winning Gold in her age division.

Even though it rained most of the day, the girls persevered. They dodged puddles and endured a thorough soaking, but seemed to enjoy themselves all the same.

For many girls, this was their first attempt at racing. The Zumba dance warm-up, wearing a race bib, and being surrounded by 500 runners at the start line was pretty exciting. They deserve to be proud of themselves, for getting out there and giving it their all.
