Elementary Track & Field at CASS

Students from the 5 feeder schools between Thessalon and Echo Bay attended a Legion Track & Field Day at CASS last Monday June 19th, 2017.

Elementary Track & Field at CASS

Overall school award was presented to Echo Bay with 402 points, followed closely by Central Algoma with 400 and Thessalon with 356. Arthur Henderson School was at an obvious disadvantage only fielding competitors in the 8/9 year age division, while the other schools had students in all three age divisions (8/9, 10/11 & 12+). 

Aggregate Girls award went to Echo Bay School and Aggregate Boys award went to Central Algoma Elementary.

8 &9 Girls- Camille (Echo Bay) – 1st -100 m, 400 m & Running Long
8 & 9 Boys- Logan (Echo Bay) – 1st – 100 m, 400m & Running Long
10 & 11 Girls- Fischer (St. Joe) – 1st – 200m, 400 m & 800 m
10 & 11 Boys- 3 way tie
Cole ( Echo Bay) – 1st – 80 m, 200 m; 2nd – Triple Jump
Thomas (Thessalon) – 1st -100 m, Triple Jump; 2nd – 80 m
Ashton (Echo Bay)-- 1st – 400 m, 800 m; 2nd – Running Long
12 & 13 Girls- Kaitlyn (Central Algoma) – 1st – 100 m, 800 m & Triple Jump
12 & 13 Boys – Connor (Central Algoma) – 1st -400 m, 800 m & 1200 m

A total of 14 records were either tied or broken at this year's track & field competition.
