Lighthouse Library Needs More Books

The Bruce Mines & District Chamber of Commerce Little Free Library has been an extremely popular spot at the waterfront. It's been very busy with both local and transient traffic stopping by to have a look and take a book.

"We are thrilled that our lighthouse library is getting so much use since it was installed at the waterfront in May of this year", says Library Steward Cheryl MacKay. However, eventually when more visitors are taking books than leaving them, the supply and selection starts to dwindle.

Library volunteer, Mariah Phillips, has been checking, replenishing, and tiding up the lighthouse at least once a week and has put out the call for more children's books. "We started with a good stash of books, but that well has run dry." We're hoping people will stop by and drop off some more books, to help us keep the library stocked."

While you are at the library, take time to read and sign the guest book. It's very interesting to see where the visitors are from and what brings them to the area.
