First Day Back at CASS

First Day Back at CASS

Grade 9 students got more than they expected as they started their first day at CASS. The CASS Link Crew gave students a warm welcome in the gym, with a few group activities and friendly competitions to get things started.

"Link Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes Grade 9 students and makes them feel comfortable throughout the first year of their high school experience. It is built on the belief that students can help students succeed."

The CASS Link Crew is headed by teachers Christina Foster and Alicia Annett along with Grade 11 students who applied to be part of the program last spring. The crew spent 2 full days last week, preparing and training for the first day kick off.

Mentors will be checking in with Grade 9 students throughout the first year. They want to see how their students are doing academically and socially at CASS; building individual relationships to help them along the way.

CASS Intermediate teachers, Amanda Moss and Sean Ingram, also received Link Crew training and prepared their own welcome assembly for Grade 7/8 students yesterday.
