It was a beautiful day for the first ever Bruce Mines Around the Bay 6k Run/Walk which started at 10am Sunday morning. Over 40 people came out to the inaugural event and ran or walked 6 Kms from the marina downtown, around the bay, to the lighthouse on McKay Island and back.

The event was organized by volunteers in support of the Bruce Mines Community Rink. Proceeds will support the new outdoor rink started last season at the waterfront in Bruce Mines.

Congratulations to the fastest male finisher-Mir Shafiee, and fastest female finisher-Shelby Coulter.

Awards were also given for age division winners (pictured below) and all participants were eligible to win some very nice draw prizes donated by local businesses.

The Bruce Mines Healthy Kids Community Challenge supplied water and snacks along the route, encouraging local families to get active and participate.
