The Kensington Conservancy hosted a Christmas Open House on Wednesday at their new office located at 69 Boyer Drive in Desbarats.

The new office sits on the Boyer Preserve, a 93-acre property purchased by The Kensington Conservancy from the Boyer Family in 2016.

The new building has 3 offices, two accessible washrooms, and a full kitchen.  A beautiful boardroom filled with natural light, overlooking the meadow, will provide much needed space for meetings and other activities.

Beautiful photographs lining the walls, some of TKC properties, and others taken by staff members of birds and wildlife observed there.

Getting the new office building on site was the first step. TKC Executive Director Tanna Elliott says, “In the future we hope to build trails here, which will meet up with existing trails on the adjoining Foster Parkland property."

The previous office space was a trailer parked at Bud’s gas station along Highway 17 in Desbarats, which wasn’t functional year round. The new building atop a hill, overlooking a meadow is a huge improvement and staff members are pretty excited about the change.
