Teacher Julie Robinson’s Rec Lead class organized and ran the tournament, which is in its 15th year at CASS.

The money raised usually goes towards CASS Athletics, but students were happy to support the Humboldt Broncos fund and donate over $800.

Teams came up with some creative names this year:  the Puck Daddys, Hard Workers, Flint Tropics, Pinhead Warriors, No Names and Algoma Crunch, Little Green and the Blue Line Bandits.

Team GMs were responsible for the draft and were allowed only one approved trade to make their teams. GMs also purchased or made the team jerseys and by the looks of some, sharpies and duct tape were involved.

The winning team ironically, chose to honour the Broncos and used their name.

Each player on the winning team will sign a hockey stick, which will be added to the others, proudly displayed in the courtyard at CASS.
