Saturday Sales Brought Everyone Out

Saturday morning the streets of Echo Bay were filled with yardsalers searching for a deal, while those searching for something furry or feathered filled the Desbarats Arena parking lot and pavilion.

Saturday Sales Brought Everyone Out

Echo Bay For Sale is a longtime annual event, that kicks off yard sale season the first Saturday in May each year and is a fundraiser for the Shamrock Figure Skating Club.

The Everything Country Fur and Feather Sale in Desbarats also drew a large crowd. People came out to visit the vendors selling livestock in the parking lot and arts and craft items in the pavilion. This is the first year for this event, which is a fundraiser for YAPA, (Youth Algoma Poultry Association).

Heidi from  NC Healthy Kids was there engaging the youngsters in games and activities outdoors. Indoors, local historian Sylvia Stobie had an impressive display and slideshow set up, highlighting the horse history in Desbarats, including the old race track.

It was great to see so many people out enjoying the long awaited spring weather and buying local at the sales.
