Legion Branch Honoured for 75th Year

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 374 St. Joseph Island has been serving Veterans and local communities for 75 years.

The Branch was recognized for its long-time service with two awards from Provincial Command at the Honours and Awards Dinner on Thursday night. Zone H4 Commander Sandy Ross presented the awards to Comrade Harold Kent, who has been a member of Branch 374 for 73 of those 75 years.

Years of service Pins and Bars were presented Thursday night to members, along with a few special awards. A Life Member Award was presented to Comrade Steve Frech for his long-time service and dedication in various positions with Branch 374 and Zone H4.

Comrade Sally Hooke was honoured for her "tireless dedication and commitment to the good and welfare of the Branch".

Fran Paterson was recognized for all that she has done behind the scenes in support of the Branch, including the research behind the new display in the lounge.
