Island Week Long Derby Finished

After one week of fishing in hot and windy conditions the St. Joseph Island Hunters & Anglers derby concluded with an awards supper on Sunday night.

In total 44 adults and 23 kids were registered for this year's derby. The numbers were up a bit from last year, which meant the cash payout was also up a bit for 2018. Adults won $250 cash for the longest fish in each division and the kids won $60 in each of their divisions.

Natalie Wessell 46cm bass

Natalie Wessell 38cm cisco (lake herring)

William McLean 77cm pike

Ella Lytham 19cm salmon (trout)

Nelson MacKay 66cm walleye.

Deegan Desjardin 32cm perch

Adult winners were:

Mark Lytham 48cm bass

Greg Ryckman 40.5cm cisco (lake herring)

Greg Ryckman 95.5cm pike

Greg Ryckman 70.5cm salmon

Bob Coutu 75cm pickerel (walleye)

Kris Desjardin 31cm perch
