Sunday was the second annual Run Around the Bay in Bruce Mines and the numbers are growing, with well over 50 participants running or walking in this year's event.

A 10km option was added at the request of some runners, and it seemed to be a good decision with many choosing to run the extra distance down Taylor Street and back. The 6km run went around the bay to the lighthouse on McKay Island and back.

Event organizers tried a new date for 2018, but announced that in 2019 they'd be returning to the Bruce Mines Fall Fair weekend, which is always the second weekend in September.

Run Around the Bay is hosted by the Bruce Mines Community Ice Rink and will use funds raised for future outdoor rink improvements. To see a photo gallery and race results click here.
