Ribbon Cutting at Echo Bay Elks Ballfield

Ribbon Cutting at Echo Bay Elks Ballfield

An official ribbon cutting ceremony took place on Saturday September 15th to celebrate the completion of the Echo Bay Elks Ballfield Rebuild project.

The ceremony took place as part of a weekend ball tournament hosted by the Elk in Echo Bay. They had 10 teams compete, with a great crowd and great weather all weekend. It was The Bandits over Team All Good in the final game.

Elks member Jean Robbins says,"We are proud of all the volunteers that came forward to complete the project after we fired the contractor.  Elks members, community people that stepped in to help, the ballplayers and their families that became the cleanup crew before the tournament."

The project was made possible with a Federal Grant of $50,480,  a Provincial Grant of $55,000, and the Elks contribution of $11,720, which was a  Canada 150 Capital Grant.
