50 Year Service Award: Neil Rowat.

Neil Rowat joined the Royal Canadian Legion in 1969 as an Ordinary Member.

Neil is a fifty year member who has definitely done his share having served on the executive. Neil's commitment includes many roles at the Executive level; starting with 2nd Vice-President in 1970, then 1st Vice followed by President for 5 years. As Past President he also took on the responsibility of Sergeant at Arms, then he managed the Membership Chair. He then returned to the Vice-President's role as 3rd Vice. Neil then took on the responsibilities of 2nd Vice-President at Zone level.

When this present building was being built, Neil was a close and good friend of Past President Bill Ross who was the General Contractor for the endeavor. Neil was instrumental with the construction project. He has always been a good Legion member, when someone was needed to do this or that, Neil was the guy that could be counted on. He was a real asset throughout the building project and continues to offer help when needed.

For your continuous service and contributions to the good and welfare of the Branch for so many years, we the members, wish to present you with this 50 Year Long Service Medal.
