Richards Landing now has a new village clock which suits the quaint downtown business section, leading to the wharf and waterfront.

The clock was installed on Wednesday morning and is located along the sidewalk, beside the Northern Credit Union.

The purchase of the village clock was made possible with the remainder of funds from the Main Street Revitalization Initiative through OMAFRA, along with donations from local individuals and businesses.

Other improvements with the Main Street Revitalization funding completed last year included: new tables and benches, planters, pea gravel and a bicycle rack at the bike station.

The village clock idea was originally brought forward by former Councillor Joe Wiederkehr, then proposed and approved by the newly elected municipal council in 2018.
