A street party with live music featuring the high school band LIME was a popular addition to the festivities. They entertained a large crowd under the tent at Cenotaph Park after the parade and games wrapped up at the Centennial Grounds.

The Township of St. Joseph Recreation Committee sponsored the band, stag and tent, while money collected "Pass the Hat" style was donated to the NSHN Auxiliary Matthews Site who also organize the regular Community Night parade and activities.

The new Boat Parade of Lights was also a fun addition at the waterfront. Six boats participated and included Gardiner's beautiful cruiser leading the parade, followed by a fishing boat,  a bow rider and a couple of pontoon boats, and a ski boat, all decorated and lit up for the occasion.

The "Peoples Choice" award was given to the MacKay-Coutu family for our "Fishing in the Dark" entry. All donations from the boat parade entries were given to the Matthews Memorial Hospital Association.

Immediately following the boats were some very impressive fireworks, set off from a Gardiner Marine barge by their crew of volunteers. Thanks to donations from the St. Joseph Island Lions Club, Gardiner Marine,  and Powerhouse Fireworks everyone got to enjoy an amazing show.
