Girls Basketball Season Underway

Girls basketball at CASS is off to a good start.

For their first league game the girls traveled to Blind River. The junior team coached by Kelly Cudmore, faced Jeunesse-Nord (JN) with a 36-28 win. The girls worked hard, and it paid off.

The senior team with coaches Lexie Lajambe and Julie Robinson, opened the season strong with a 47-19 victory over W.C. Eaket. The team showed their presence coming up with ten 3-point shots.

Next up was the Huskies Home opener. The senior team started action after their school Pep Rally. The team showed a strong presence verses league rival Espanola High (EHS), the Huskies fell six points short with a close score of 41-35.

Jenna Fleming led the team, scoring 19 points, followed by Baylee Bock will 11, and Brooke Rivers with 5.

In junior gameplay, the team faced a 30-19 loss to EHS. Grade 9, Ijeoma Alimole topped the board with 6 points, followed by Lauren Hutchinson and Tate Hartley with 4 points.
