Something Not COVID 19 Related!

There was a rare and wonderful thing that occurred here this week, amid all the virus doom and gloom. We thought you would appreciate something in the news that was not COVID 19 related!

Our roving photographer Ruth Thompson got some great photos of the snow rolls on Tuesday morning, before they disappeared.

According to Wikipedia "A snow roller is a rare meteorological phenomenon in which snowballs are formed naturally as chunks of snow are blown along the ground by wind, picking up material along the way, in much the same way that the large snowballs used in snowmen are made."

This weird weather phenomenon is also known as "snow bales," "wind snowballs," or "snow donuts,"(if they are hollow in the centre).

Thank you Ruth for spreading some cheer and wonder in these trying times.
