East Algoma OPP Thessalon Detachment Report

DRIVER CHARGED WITH NO INSURANCE

(MUNICIPALITY OF HURON SHORES, ON)- On October 9, 2020, members from East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol duties on Brownlee Road within the Municipality of Huron Shores.

Shortly after 2:00 p.m., police observed a vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. A query revealed the vehicle was uninsured. 

As a result of the investigation, Renna BISAILLON, age 32, from Th essalon First Nation was charged with: Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Sault Ste Marie Provincial Offences Court on November 18, 2020.

 

DRIVER CHARGED WITH STUNT DRIVING

(PLUMMER ADDITIONAL TOWNSHIP)- On October 10, 2020, members from East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol duties on Highway 17, within the Plummer Additional Township.

Shortly after 11:00 a.m., police observed an eastbound vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. The officer locked in a speed of more than 170 km/hr in a posted in a 90 km/hr zone and initiated a traffic stop near the junction of Highway 17 and Duff Road.

As a result of the investigation Austin LITT, ag e 25 from Milton, was charged with:

The vehicle was impounded and the driver's licence has been suspended for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Sault Ste Marie Provincial Offences Court on November 18, 2020.
